Identification of the location and design of the anemometric campaign
Our technical department helps the client to identify the potentially suitable location for the construction of a wind farm by the installation of wind measuring stations and the design of a measurement campaign based on the standard IEC-61400 or by the use of existing temporary series to determine the IEC class of the place of measurement. We fully manage the anemometric project in each phase, thanks to certified suppliers and qualified subcontractors and to the profound knowledge of the materials and the measuring instruments available in the international market.

Wind data analysis
We receive and analyse the measurement data for the evaluation of energy yield, the AEP P50, P75, P90 estimations and for determination of the types of turbines that maximize the energy produced. We filter the data and we carry out the processing to detect particular environmental conditions, such as:

  • wind flow characteristics, as well as the intensity of the turbulence
  • wind speed
  • Air density and temperature
  • Wind shear phenomena

The measuring stations are monitored constantly by our technicians to detect as soon as possible any type of failure in order to resolve them immediately. A detailed report is made and it is sent to the client, informing of the equipment installed, its operating condition, the periodic performance data with the typical graphics and statistics (for example, wind roses, distributions of speed, correlations, wind shear, etc.)

Design of micro-location and wind farm
We apply Digital Elevation Model (DEM) techniques and the use of specific software with linear type algorithms, such as lWAsp and WIND Farmer and other non-linear ones such as WindSim or CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), with the purpose of optimizing the prediction of Energy and minimizing the uncertainties due to the complexity of the terrain or the presence of obstacles. The type and the location of the wind turbines are optimized to maximize energy production and minimize turbulence and problems due to the effects of the load.

We perform installations of anemometric states for:

  • Power performance test (PPT) of wind turbines
  • calibration of the site in case of complex orography
  • support services for certification bodies of third parties

This makes it possible to compare the nominal power of the machine with that which can really be obtained at the site of installation to offer the investors a clear view of the real potential of profits and the required financial effort.
